Originating from Norfolk County in Ontario, Canada, these flags are made out of reclaimed hardwood slats that were once used to dry tobacco leaves 60-70 years ago. A Table Gang would tie each leaf to one of these slats, then load them into the Kiln to dry.
Eventually, these slats were replaced with stainless steel racks and temporarily put aside for many years until being recycled and transformed into these beautiful flags.
