Wood Type Example

Solid Oak

Known for its strong durability and its unique coarse-grained texture, red oak hardwood has been used for handcrafted furniture for many years. The heartwood is a pinkish reddish brown while the sapwood holds a light brown colour.

Quarter-Cut Oak

The quarter slicing cut produces a straight grain effect. When producing this variation of red oak, the quarter log is mounted so the growth rings hit the blade at a right angle. This produces a flake pattern unique to other wood variations.
